Bunch of feathers

Saturday when I was spraying weeds I came across quite a number of feathers around the east side of the middle pasture.  I often see a feather that a large bird has lost, but the amount of today's feathers gave me the impression this bird lost its life.  From the look of the feathers I would guess the bird was a pheasant.
