Hard fall

I took a hard fall tonight. It was cold outside and I had run out to toss the wood stove's ashes in the hayfield and when I ran back to the house I forgot in the dark that there was an area of ice north of the house.

ZING!

I went up and then fell hard and fast. I fell on my face and hit the ground so hard I saw "stars" (a flash of light) briefly.

I am sore now. My chin, left knee and the palm on my right hand. Looking in the mirror my chin is lopsided with the left side lower than my right. The left side must be swollen. Or at least I hope that is the reason.

Good thing I wasn't knocked unconscious as the temperature was just below zero F.
