Calf 4

The same day Oreo was born, Wednesday April 8, another calf was born.  This calf was born around noon.  The mother was number 7, a first time mother.  I had some concerns as she was a first time mother, but the birth apparently went well and she turns out to be a great mother.

The calf is a girl.  Notice the color.  At first I thought the calf was black.  But the color is a dark chocolate brown.  A color I've not seen on any cattle before.  Dan thinks the calf may turn black when it gets older.
