Saturday we saw the sun for the first time in a long while. Mid week we had an arctic front move into Montana. East of the mountains they had lots of snow and a blizzard, while - other than a dusting of snow - we just got the cold. Our high temperatures are 15 to 20 degrees below the normal of 46 F.
Since the cold weather's arrival on strong NE winds Momma and Baby have hung around the corral most of the time. The loafing shed provides a nice shelter from the wind. I provide hay for them to eat and put a floating heat element in the stock tank to keep it ice free as our high temperatures haven't been above freezing for a few days now.
With today's sun Momma and Baby liked to linger on the south side of the barn. It may look warm - but it is not.
