Shower tile start

Kevin started the tiling today.  For the most part he worked on the hard parts first: the bench and the shelves.

As a change of pace, we used 12 inch tiles on the bench instead of the 6 inch tiles for the rest of the shower.

Here are the shelves.

Instead of the cement board, for the shelves he used some small pieces of backerboard he had. He said it was much better than cement board.  One example why was that the edges never crumbled when cut. Kevin said it wasn't sold in stores; he got it from his wholesaler.
