Social capital

I ran across interesting articles on social capital. The articles were based on the book, Bowling Alone, by Robert Putman.

Social capital seems to be the sense of community and interconnectedness people feel.

I am pleased that three of the states I have lived in rank high for social capital. North Dakota is number 1; Minnesota is number 4, and Montana is number 5.

The map is based on the results of a survey.

The Oil Drum: New York City web site has more charts and info on what went into creating the rankings. Figures 7 show how the states chart on various indexes.
