March's Taste of Home

Today Tammy and I attended the recent Taste of Home show in Kalispell.  The show was held at the expo building at the Flathead County fairgrounds.

We were at the show as a vendor and Tammy sold her Tastefully Simple product.  The show didn't have many vendors, maybe around 15 or so.

Even though the cooking demonstration wasn't to start until 7 pm the doors to the show were to open at 5 pm and the show organizers wanted the vendors to be set up by 3:30 pm.  Tammy wanted to make sure we were ready by 3:30 pm so we were there a little after 2:30 pm.  We were set up by 3:30 pm.

Tammy is not happy with her table layout and wants to change it.  For a temporary fix I found a couple of large boards to increase the height between her two racks.  That made her tablecloth have creases in it which did not make Tammy happy.   I noticed another vendor had a table layout more in line with what Tammy likes.  I peeked under their tablecloth to see how they provided multiple levels on top of their table.

The amount of people attending the demonstration was decent though not overwhelming.  Not all the chairs were filled.   Tammy sold some product and got interest by a few people in having home parties.  A number of people were familiar with the product which helps as they usually love the product and are enthusiastic that someone local is selling it.

Once the demonstration started at 7 pm everyone took their seats and watched it.  Other than during a break midway through the demonstration the people visiting the vendors pretty much stopped and it got boring for those of us not interested in the cooking lessons.  The demonstration was over at 9:30 pm and everyone quickly left.  A third of the vendors had packed up and left before the show was over, and once the show was over everyone else quickly packed up and left.
