Flooded house

A last photo from Minot.  I took this photo on the way to the train station.  This is all that is left of a house.  The white trailers in the back are the FEMA trailers two home owners are temporarily living in.

Lots of homes that were flooded are still sitting as either a shell, with no doors or windows, or boarded up.  People are trying to figure out what the new flood control protection plan will be and who will be affected.  No sense rebuilding your home if the new plan takes your house and property for flood protection.  Also many of the flooded areas were the older parts of town.  The old people who owned their homes don't have the money or the energy to rebuild.

Minot has changed.
